I haven't seen anyone talk about these here so I thought I'd share. I use wooden ladders made for birds in my chameleon cages. They love them!! $4 at pet supply stores.

** Chameleon Cage **

For Sean.... Sorry I did erase most of the pictures but as you can see, it is a basic structure. Then just add a background. I stapled the screen around. About the door, same thing, it is a simple structure. Light metal screen around, I used thicker mesh for the top, enough strong to carry the lamps. Chameleons are acrobates they like to climb everywhere, being upside down don't bother them, so I don't advice you to install the lamps 'inside' the cage to prevent any burn. If you want a big cage, you should think about the light for the plants or they will die quite quickly. Also, chameleons like to taste anything, so be sure the plants you will add are not toxic. I personally use one high Ficus ( not the best in low light but works) and one medium Philodendron (wonderful) s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/51/9f/94/519f941e9... I will advice you not to add coconut cheaps substrat on the bottom, chameleons eat them and they may have a stomach obstruction. I use 'ground' coconut substrat. It absorbs the water from the mist device. Leaves always have to be humid. As you surely know, this is the only way your buddy will drink, unless you train him to drink at a rodent water bottle like I did with Oscar. They are pretty smart, if you show him where the drops of water come from the bottle, he will observe and learn quickly. Install your cage in a sunny place, cham' and plants will be happy-) For the decoration, just grab thick ropes (less expensive that reptile retail decoration). Last thing but not the least, I added curtains around the cage that I draw at 5:00 pm when the light turns off, chameleon are very sharp about sleeping time, they don't like to be disturbed then-)
