In celebration of Downtown Abbey: A New Era, we dive into how the makeup, skincare, hair, and nail trends changed in the '20s.

Flappers who were women in the 1920s that engaged in the city nightlife. They broke all kinds of beauty standards. They showed their ankles and knees. They cut their hair in short man-like bobs and wore makeup. Women like flappers gained a boost of confidence, so they could now enjoy the activities they wanted to participate in. Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, french fashion designer, popularized the new look not only in France but America as well.
