Simple cuboidal epithelium

Simple cuboidal epithelia contain single layered, square shaped cells with larger volume than squamous cells. This is good for storing organelles and aids in secretions and absorption, and a production of mucus coat. This epithelia can be found in the liver, thyroid, mammary, salivary and other glands.
