This photograph was taken during a trip to Page, Arizona. I had always wanted to visit the slot canyons outside of Page. There are two, the Upper Antelope Canyon and the Lower Antelope Canyon. This was the first time I went there to photograph with one of my workshop students. You need a Navajo guide when visiting these two slot canyons. When we went to one of the guides and explained we were serious photographers and would be using a tripod for the camera to take photographs, he did not seem to be interested in working with us. We then went to another guide and he said no problem. One of the spectacular features of the slot canyons is the incredible rock formations. The other is the light beams coming from above into the canyon. A good guide is very helpful finding both of these.
