a multicolored quilt laying on the ground

Welcome to finish it up Friday! I finished my quilt! This one took me on quite a journey. It feels so personal and like such a milestone for reasons I can't express. I will say, however, that I am absolutely pleased with how it turned out. I think the amount of photos to follow prove that. :) The top is made up of 100% scraps. Mainly Kona cottons, but several other brands make an appearance including a few shot cottons and a few Oakshott scraps. Spiral quilting was done in a light gray…

While making this quilt I had the urge to change up this design and give it a make-over. Which I did, but I couldn't show that one until this one was quilted, bound and washed! That's jus the way I work! COLOR EXPLOSION 51" x 62" Many of you know that I make this quilt often, either in a lap size or baby quilt. And you might know that I have a suitcase full of HSTs to pull from. It's so much easier to have the HSTs at the ready where I can pull from when the mood strikes me! I also love to…

Our daughter Kate's been married for almost 8 years...I can't believe it's been that long! This is the quilt I made a few years ago from her reception decorations... We had silk "placemats" on the center of each table. A larger magenta or orange rectangle, then a green square set on point on that...topped with a grouping of bead wrapped glasses filled with gerber daisies in bright magenta and orange, along with some mini lime green mums. The colors really popped against the white…

I spent a solid two weeks this spring hand-stitching a zillion little yo-yos using RJR's Cotton Supreme Solids. They were each like little gems, perfectly round and fluffy and dazzling saturated in color. Problem was, when I went to put them together for the What Shade Are You blog hop RJR has organized, I was

a multicolored striped quilt on the floor next to a white wall and door

Hello quilty friends. Today I'm sharing a rainbow quilt that I made for a loved one. In the end I decided to gift another quilt to that person for several reasons, so this is just a "for fun" quilt at our house now! I'm not complaining :) The colors make me so happy. At 68" x 86", it's a very good size for a twin sized bed, so maybe that will be its purpose one day, who knows. If you're looking for the bright rainbow quilt post, go here! The pattern is as simple as they come, I really wanted…
