Canada goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) is a native North American perennial often found in open areas in large numbers. It typically is one of the first plants to colonize an area after disturbance (such as fire) and rarely persists once shrubs and trees become established. It is found neither in very dry locations nor in waterlogged ones. It is wrongly accused of being the cause of hay fever allergies for many people.

Solidago altissima Tall Goldenrod  - All over the place.  Property line (which I should probably move), honeysuckle garden, front winterberry garden, etc.  Couldn't decide; everyone agrees it is so similar to Solidago canadensis that some file it as a subset of S. canadensis.  I pinned this because it had the best differential between the two (better than IW!).  The three-veined aspect of the leaf mentioned here is what I based my final decision on.
