The pine trees all over the forests here in the national park have the most interesting textures and pattern. The color of this one was like silver jewelry with a bit of patina. Macro taken at the Chiricahua National Monument, southeastern Arizona.

Tendu is its Hindi name. It is also known as Coromandel Ebony or East Indian Ebony (Diospyros melanoxylon). They use the leaves of the Tendu to make beedi. The langurs and the deer feed on the berries which taste very much like the chikoo. We found this bark to be so similar to that of the Crocodile Bark tree. Wonder if we can tell them apart, if there is every a possibility of seeing them together. The size, maybe ? The Tendu seems to be slimmer.

These are two old pictures from a few years ago. Soon there will be more dandelions to create things with and each day as the evenings draw back Spring is more evident all around. New growth and new life gladdens the heart. Lambs in the fields, birds singing and buds on the trees. This Winter may have a sting in the tail yet but Spring is most certainly on the way and soon there will be new life and new growth and new materials with which to create. Land Art Blog
