Sharyn Kish on Instagram: "Here are a few ways to use those mini fly swatters… 1. Teacher (or family member) says a word. Students “swat” the beginning sound heard in the word dictated. (Great phoneme to grapheme practice) The first one to slap it gets to grab it from the table. Play until there are no more cards. 2. Play the same way but students listen for the middle vowel sound. **You can change up the game to listen for ending sounds in the words dictated. 3. Sound Circle. Lay out letter cards on the table (or use post-it notes). Students use a whisper phone and “fun” pointer to walk around the table and “whisper” read the letter and sound for each card. Fynn Sor | Happy Tot Shelf on Instagram: "Make this CVC Word Slider Board to help children practice blending CVC words! 📝✨Follow @happytotshelf for more fun and engaging learning activities for children! 🔷 CVC words are simple words that follow the pattern: consonant, vowel, consonant. 🔶 Why start with CVC words? CVC words are ideal for beginners because they have clear beginning, middle, and ending sounds, making them easy to segment and blend. They are among the first words preschoolers learn to read. 🔷 How to use the CVC Word Slider Board: 1. Use a dry erase marker to write the beginning and ending consonants on the slider board. 2. Move the slider board down to align with each vowel to form a CVC word. 3. The students have seen these on my shelf and are always itching to use them - so today we found a great purpose for them. We also worked on strengthening executive functioning skills by asking kindergartners to recall and identify and sequence of sounds. #OG #ortongillingham #ortongillinghamteachers #vowels #kindergarten #readingtime #teachertips #executivefunctioning #executivefunctioningskills #readingteachers" Short Vowel Games Kindergarten, Vowel Activity For Kindergarten, Short Vowel Activities Kindergarten, Vce Activities, Vowel Intensive Activities, Vowels Games For Kindergarten, How To Teach Vowels Kindergarten, Vowels Activity For Kindergarten, Vowel Activities For Kindergarten
