Chief Joseph II and unidentified Nez Percé Man. The only information I’ve found regarding this photo is that it may have been taken in Kansas or Indian territory (Oklahoma). I’m trying to identify the man sitting next to Joseph. In Nez Percé culture, Short hair was often a sign that a loved one had been lost and they would cut their hair while in mourning for a year. I think this may be a nephew? If anyone has any information please feel free to comment below. I would appreciate it.
