Our pop-up camper remodel
Collection by KC
Our trial and error , pain and fun doing a pop up trailer remodel on a 1988 scamper
Custom diamond plated utility doors for the pop up camper. Total cost $15 for all the scrap diamond plate. How? We recycled a diamond plate tool box we bought from a local auction :). Luckily we have an amazingly talented friend that designed and customized these. So much better than before ! ( before we were missing the door all together btw lol it blew off during our very first trip home after we bought he camper )
Our pop up trailer after painting. It was very affordable and came out pretty good! We used a quart of enamel grey paint which we diluted with paint thinner 2/3 and sprayed the paint on. Then to add some fun, we sprayed a can of metal flake paint over to create a sparky effect! :) Remember it must be enamel. Total cost- $8 for enamel grey, $8 enamel white , $5 glitter spray, $3 plastic, $6 paint thinner. $30 trailer paint job!
Sew free cushion covers! Purchased outdoor fabric tommy Bahama from fabric.com. Used witch stitchery to iron the fabric and seal it . What an amazing discovery! So much easier than trying to remember how to use my ancient sewing machine
Sparkles! after reprinting the exterior of the camper we added sparkle glitter spray paint and coated it with a top coat of poly to seal it. Looks pretty snazzy and it sparkles in the sun
Our stove top was really bad . It was rusty and yellow toned and just not so pretty. I used a engine high heat resistant grey spray paint to coat the top. Looks much better :)
Removing mold from the boards. We used a large amount of white vinegar which resolved most of the issue, then coated the boards with kilz

We pulled off all the canvas to clean and realized we had a slight mold problem. We sprayed the boards with a vinegar solution , which took care of most of the mold. We are still work of on this but we are thinking of finishing the boards by spraying killz spray. I'll let you know how it works :)
Not sure what we were thinking when we sprayed our pop up camper with this is bright ugly color lol but had to share . We later fixed it lol
