So it feels slightly unnerving to tell you I decided to not to do any Christmas craft markets this year. None. There were for a few reasons for this. As any seller will tell you despite being great fun craft fairs are…

I am super thrilled to be asked to contribute to @pipwilcoxceramics wonderful initiative @makers4refugees So here it is...I am offering four of my ever popular 'At the Beach' mugs. Each one is hand-thrown on my potter's wheel using stoneware clay and glazed in a unique combination of coastal inspired colours they each hold 1/2 pint 300ml. They are the perfect size for hot chocolate to warm your cockles on a cold winters day. As these four beauts are similar (although each still unique) I am…

Limitations in creativity can be a good thing it focuses your efforts. It means you get really good at working in your current situation- becoming slick and efficient without dilution or distraction. Most small makers I know work with limitations be that time space or budget. For me the major limitation has been space- space for drying pots space for storing pots and space for firing pots. Getting a bigger kiln has made a huge impact on my productivity- I can fire big batches of work which…

Warm your cockles with a handmade mug. This one is glazed in my Frosty Blue Green Glaze; a back ground of matt teal green with blue crystal blooms and subtle tans showing through where the glaze is thinner. A few of these will be back in my online store tomorrow 8pm GMT

Happiest of Fridays Insta-folk! I have been photographing lots of lovely pots today. I took about 200 shots then realised the camera was on the wrong setting - had to shoot it all again. Hey ho! You will get a shop update this weekend if it kills me Sunday at 8pm GMT to be precise!

wintry pallet . . . For me the best thing about these Yunomi inspired bowls is the glaze combination. It does something unique on every single one. A drip may form over the curved body or a delicate new blue hue will emerge where the glazes overlap and mingle during the firing. I have a few of these little matcha tea bowls left in my shop- equally handy for mulled wine.

Writing this post from underneath the kitchen table When I began my pottery journey a little over 13 year ago I never dreamed in a million years it would become the very thing which kept a roof over my head brought me such joy and which drove me crazy and kept me sane in equal measure. Now here I am...with 10k follows all behind little squares on my phone...what happened?!!! All I can say is a massive heartfelt thank you to everyone who takes an interest likes comments and maybe just maybe…
