Sweet Dough 1 package instant dry yeast 1/2 c (118 ml) water at 110F (44C) 1/3 c (66 g) sugar 1/2 c (118 ml) milk, warmed 1/3 c (78 g) butter, melted and cooled to room temp 1 egg, beaten and at room temp 1 tsp salt 3 1/2 to 4 c (438 to 500 g) flour 1/4 c (59 g) butter, softened 2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 c (36 g) brown sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla
Easiest Biscuits • 1 1/3 cup flour •1½ tsp baking powder • 1/2 tsp salt • 8 oz cream cheese • 2/3 cup butter Mix flour, baking powder & salt separately. Cream butter & cream cheese. Add 1 cup flour mixture & make a dough ball. Refrigerate 30 min. Sprinkle board with flour. Add some on top. Roll ¼". Fold over dough to ½ inch thick. Dip cutter in flour & cut. Refrigerate until cool. Bake 1” apart in preheated oven at 425 for 15 min.
2 Ingredient Bread. So easy that you can do this with toddlers. 1c self rising flour + 1c Greek yogurt. Combine in mixing bowl to form ball then knead on floured board for 6-8 mins. The more you knead it the better it gets. If dough feels too wet sprinkle w/flour. Roll out. Add stuff. Or whatever you want to do with it. Bake. Voila.
Super Easy Survival Bread 1 cup of fine whole wheat flour 2 tbsp. of olive oil (optional, also regular vegetable oil works too) 1 tsp. salt 1/2 cup of water Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and scoop it togther into a ball. Lightly dust a cookie sheet, rock, or other flat surface with flour. Pour the dough ball out and knead for 5 mins. Roll out to about 1/8″ thin and bake at 350F for 20 mins.Powers out? No oven? Put it in a dutch oven instead and cook it over a fire.
Homemade Sopapillas~~ 2 cups all purpose flour~ 1 tsp baking powder~ 1/2 tsp salt~ 3/4 cup hot water~ 2 Tbs lard~ Melt the lard in the hot water; add to dry ingredients; form a dough ball; Let sit 30+ minutes covered. Form 12 equal sized balls. Smash dough ball in tortilla press. Deep fry at 375 until brown and puffy, flip over and brown the other side. Serve hot with honey or cinnamon & sugar
