ELLA KATE EWING (1872-1913): According to her publicity, Ella Kate Ewing, the Missouri Giantess, was 8 feet, 4 ½ inches tall, though her true height was closer to 7'3". She was born on March 9, 1872, in Louis County, Missouri, weighing seven and a half pounds at birth and grew normally until she was 9. She died of pneumonia at the age of 40 and was extremely self-conscience of her size 24 feet until her death.
Frederick Kempster - the 'English Giant'?
He was known as the English Giant, but could also have been called the Friendly Giant. He was Frederick John Kempster, and he joined Astley and Company's American Circus at Chigwell in Essex as a professional giant in June 1911 - not as a "freak" but because he loved people. "It is said he was a happy, well-adjusted chap who liked to talk to the public," said his great-nephew Jim Kempster.

Giant Skeleton ~ Archaeologists in Bulgaria have discovered the remains of what they have described as a “huge skeleton” in downtown Varna, a city on the shores of the Black Sea whose rich culture and civilizations spans some 7,000 years. It is not the first time that an over-sized skeleton has been found in Eastern Europe.
