Ronald DeFeo, Jr Convicted of six counts of murder at Amityville, New York in 1974. He murdered his mother, father, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. One sister and his mother had appeared to have been awake at the time of their murders. DeFeo denies ever releasing information that his sister was the real murderer as well as 2 of his friends. The theory had been debunked and proven incorrect in court (the book The Night the Defoes Died is based on the "false" information).
