Air Force Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, 27, of Palmdale, California. Died May 3, 2013, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. Died when the KC-135 aircraft she was in crashed near Chon-Aryk, Kyrgyzstan while on a refueling mission for Afghanistan war operations. According to witnesses, the plane exploded twice in flight and broke into several pieces in midair. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
