Hamburger

A hamburger (originally hamburg-er, or Hamburg patty in German, not ham patty in English) or by apheresis burger, is a sandwich of German origin, consisting of two round-shaped buns (bun) usually topped with ground steak (usually beef) and raw vegetables, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and sauce... This world-famous dish is, since the 1950s, one of the emblems of American culture and cuisine, as well as fast food (with sandwiches, American sandwiches, hot dogs, pizzas, kebabs...).
