A 1955 Universal Statuary Corporation of Chicago chalkware table lamp of a Conga Drum player with a vintage fiberglass shade with woven trim. The conga drum was popularized in the 1950's when Latin music swept the United States. Desi Arnaz played a role in the conga drum trend. Universal Statuary began production in the late 1930's in Chicago. They produced mainly traditional Italian designs out of plaster/chalkware.
