This picture is of the first Council of the City of Oshawa! On March 8th, 1924; at noon that day Oshawa became a city- Ontario’s 25th city actually. To achieve city status one must have the population for it and that is exactly what happened. Between 1894 and 1924 Oshawa’s population grew by 248%. Now Oshawa is 91 years old and still growing!
