The Mulholland Dam is the enormous structure above Hollywood that creates Lake Hollywood.  A lovely hiking circuit is there around the lake that we often hike on an Elite Adventure Tours visit to the Hollywood Sign nearby.  While on the dam we can marvel at the sculpted bears that decorate the columns of the dam.

This whimsical example of “Storybook Style” architecture is a restaurant called the Tam O'Shanter Inn. It opened in June 1922 by the founders of Van de Kamp's Bakeries and is still around, making it Los Angeles’ oldest restaurant that has remained in the same location under the same ownership. It is located in the Los Feliz area, just a few miles away from Walt Disney’s Hyperion Studio. Disney himself and his lead animators often frequented the place.
