Coat, Paul Poiret, 1906-1909. Silk satin, kimono sleeves, rectangular flat form like kimono, crochet and bobbin lace, black lace lapel with tassel, yellow silk "habutae" lining. Poiret called this a "kimono coat." The pieces were cut straight. Poiret introduced loose-fitting silhouette coats like this at the same time as dresses that had a new silhouette with the support point at the shoulders instead of the waist. Kyoto Costume Institute.
