Creating a programme that cares for the physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing of every child is much more than building new schools. It’s about creating a place where children feel safe and learn what they need to know in order to grow up healthy and ready to take an active role in their communities.
UNICEF, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Peter Krämer Foundation today kicked off a new fundraising drive to raise US$80 million to help Africa’s girls, orphans, children living in extreme poverty and other vulnerable children go to school and get a quality education.
"With my education I will be able to help others. I will also be able to get a proper job and take care of my family. My first salary will go entirely to my parents because they have taught me about the importance of going to school, which is the future for Mozambique.” -- http://www.unicef.org/mozambique/media_11361.html
