Photo @ladzinski / Beams of sunlight cutting through the smoke filled valley's of the interior of #GlacierNationalPark. Although the park is experiencing a couple of contained fires of its own the majority of this is smoke has been blown in from neighboring fires as far away as Washington state. This aerial photograph was shot from a small Cessna this morning. Seeing the park from this vantage put into sharp perspective the shear grandeur of this beautiful park and the dwindling glaciers…

Photo @coryrichards A small herd of elephants crosses a shallow channel in the Okavango Delta Botswana. Shot on assignment for @natgeo with @intotheokavango and @drsteveboyes during a 119 day human powered scientific mega-transect of the Cuito catchment one of two main water sources feeding the Delta and all the life it supports. Hopefully the science yielded from this study will act as a catalyst for the upstream protection of the waters of the Delta. For more images from the journey follow…

Photograph by @paulnicklen for @natgeo. A humpback whale lunge feeds in Monterey Bay California. They use the oceans surface as a net forcing herring against this layer and then burst through surface tension mouth agape filling their cavernous mouths with thousands of anchovies. Please #follow me on @paulnicklen to see an image of looking into the open mouth of a humpback whale. It is a perspective I have always dreamed of photographing. Total Lunar Eclipse of the supermoon". Photo by @TimLaman taken just now Sep 27 2015 at 10:30 PM USA Eastern Time from Massachusetts USA. The moon is full tonight and at its closest point in its orbit around the earth making it 14% larger then typical full moons. And this has coincided with a total lunar eclipse in the part of the world where I am creating this spectacular sight. The eclipse will last for a couple more hours so get outside now and see it! You may not ever see an eclipse like…

Photo by @argonautphoto (Aaron Huey). The #NenanaRiver #wolfpack crossing through an area with several trap lines just outside the borders of #DenaliNationalPark Alaska. There are no buffer zones around the Park and trapping or shooting wolves is a fairly common practice in Alaska. Shot on assignment as part of our National Parks series! Watch for this story in early 2016! More #wolf photos at @argonautphoto! by natgeo

A blood moon sounds like something ripped from a George Lucas script. Yet tonight or in the wee hours of tomorrow morning depending on where you live a total supermoon lunar eclipse will occur and color the moon copper for the first time since 1982. Millions will stare in wonder and Rob Simonsen (@frozen_light) likely will be among them. I love space and I get so awe-inspired when I look at the stars and sky and witness the beauty in our world says the 37-year-old composer and college…
