Photo by @BrianSkerry A tiny seahorse swims just below the surface of the water within a mangrove in #Belize. Mangroves are critical habitat for many sea creatures and a natural nursery for juvenile animals. This seahorse has the ability to mimic the surrounding habit on its body in an effort to camouflage itself. Photograph by @paulnicklen for @natgeo // A young Pacific White Sided Dolphin cruises above its mother 90 miles off the West coast of #British Columbia. I love how curious these dolphins can be. This mother kept bringing her young calf over to investigate the intruder in her ocean. #gratitude #nature #wildlife #picoftheday. Please #follow @paulnicklen as we continue to discover additional gems from this little known corner of our oceans.

Later on that night I went to check on it and found it had somehow wandered into the neighbors fenced off back yard and was having trouble finding its way out. Using a branch I lifted it across the fence and took it to the nearest patch of forest. Think sloths are gentle creatures? This one…
