"Choose Me!" by Karin Leperi: During the months of March and April, over 500,000 sandhill cranes descend for a stop-over in the Platte River Valley of Nebraska. Here they compete for mates as males show their finery to disinterested females (some even dance). They also refuel for their continuing migration northward.
