UM alums Larry Furlong (political science major), wife Emily (sociology and art), and daughters Katie (theatre arts) and Mary (history and anthropology) created the Furlong Family Scholarship Endowment to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts with preference given to students from Illinois, Florida, California and Nashville, Tenn.
Gratitude to Bob and Mary Ellen Warner! In addition to the Warners’ gifts to University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Ole Miss Alumni Association, they have also designated $400,000 to establish the Dr. and Mrs. Robert L. Warner Jr. Scholarship Endowment, which will benefit University of Mississippi ~ Ole Miss students from Hinds County, Miss.—Mary Ellen’s (BSN '79) home—and from Hancock and Harrison counties, where Bob (BS biology '79 MD '83) was born and raised.
Professor Alexander Lee Bondurant, joined the University of Mississippi faculty in 1889 and succeeded to the Chair of Latin in 1893. Members of the art department recently restored his portrait.
