Fernando Namora (1919-1989) was a writer endowed with a profound capacity for psychological analysis, inseparable from a great sensibility and poetic language. Besides the works of poetry and novels, he wrote  stories, memories and impressions of travel, especially the writer's notebooks, which provide a constant dialogue with the reader, openness to other cultures, lands and people, such as vision of a changing world, as expressed in "Estamos no Vento".

Guerra Junqueiro (1850-1923) was one of the greatest Portuguese poets. The ability to compose caricatures made him the most popular poet of his time. Influenced by Victor Hugo and Voltaire, Junqueiro’s writing was pamphlet-like. He was a social critic, full of love of his homeland; a humanist who wrote pages of great sensitivity. His writing had as the ultimate renewal of Portuguese society – a goal that proved to be unrealistic.

His extensive work is divided into fiction, essay and diary, and is usually grouped into two literary periods: Neo-Realism and Existentialism. Is considered that "Mudança" is the work which marks the transition between the two periods.

Throughout his life performed an intense literary activity, comprising, in addition to fiction, biographies, chronicles, historical and literary essays, polemical texts. His style is characterized by an exuberant vocabulary .

ANTERO DE QUENTAL, poeta, escritor, filósofo e político. Nasceu em 18 de Abril de 1942, em Ponta Delgada, Ilha de São Miguel, Açores – Portugal. Suicidou-se aos 49 anos de idade em  11 de Setembro de 1891.
