Archaeologists working in China have uncovered 110 new terracotta warriors and 12 pottery horses in Xi’an. The excavation on the 200-square-meter (2,152-square-feet) site has found a total of 110 terracotta figurines.The most significant discovery this time around is that the relics that were found were well-preserved and colourfully painted.

Coal miners display bombs dropped by the govt of United States on its own citizens during the Battle of Blair Mountain, the largest armed uprising in the US after the Civil War.  For five days in 1921, in Logan County, West Virginia, between 10,000 and 15,000 coal miners confronted an army of 30,000 police and strikebreakers backed by coal operators... The battle ended after approximately one million rounds were fired, and the United States Army intervened by presidential order.

Terra cotta clay soldiers swathed in a riot of bold colors: red and green, purple and yellow. Most of the colors did not survive time or exposure to air that comes with discovery and excavation. In earlier digs, archaeologists watched as the warriors’ colors disintegrated in the dry Xian air. Once exposed, the lacquer underneath the paint began to curl after 15 seconds and flake off in four minutes. New preservation technique is revealing the terra-cotta army’s true colors.
