Pantheon of Kings, El Escorial, near Madrid. Burial site for Spanish monarchs Carlos I through Alfonso XIII, and their respective mothers. The room is located down a long marble corridor, directly beneath the chapel's high altar. The marble is much greener and blacker than it appears in this photo. Royal consorts and children are buried in the numerous white marble tombs that fill several adjoining rooms, the Pantheon of Infantes.
