Eric Clapton announced that Cream was to split up. There was the farewell concert in November Eric then formed Blind Faith before joining Delaney and Bonnie.

On March 13, 1965, Eric Clapton quit The Yardbirds because of the musical direction the band was heading in. Clapton wanted to continue in a blues type vein, while the rest of the band preferred the more commercial style of their first hit, the Graham Gouldman penned 'For Your Love'.   Yardbirds with Jimmy Page, Jim McCarty, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Chris Dreja, Keith Reilf.    The Yardbirds were my favorite band when I was in high school.  I did not know who was in the band.
