A Stunning Siberian Nephrite Casket by Carl Faberge, an Imperial acquisition bought by Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. Nephrite was highly prized by the Russians and could only be worked by lapidaries with special permission from the Hermitage Palace. It is accompanied by a purpurine dish also by Faberge.

Realistically modelled, on four scroll feet, the square base rising to a cylindrical body, with upright angular handles applied with ivory, with ivory knobs, the teapot base enclosing a well for lighter fluid, the front engraved with initials and date ‘R.J.R.H. / 1902.’, the back engraved with initials ‘C.E.R.’
