This display of the wood and stones is so inviting and would definitely grad children's attention when they are looking for what they would like to play with. I think it's incredibly important to keep loose materials presented in an inviting, intriguing way in order to attract children to explore the materials, and this is a great example of that.

For anyone who hasn't heard of this before, the point of Heuristic Play is that the natural resources can be used / combined / played with in any way the child wishes, there is no pre-determined outcome. Alot of toys nowadays need to be played with in a specifice way, whereas Heuristic Play allows a child to use their imagination and be creative, without any pressure to produce / achieve something.
