Jacques Doucet (1853-1929) dressed many of the leading actresses of his day, including Cecile Sorel, Sarah Bernhardt, Gabrielle Dorziat, and Réjane, HIs clothes were known for luxury and taste. He was also an avid collector of art and books, and bequeathed his collections to France. In return, the University of Paris named a library in his honor, the Bibliothèque Littéraire Jacques Doucet.
