Hovsep Aznavur, Armenian architect in Istanbul and an Austrian company will build a very particular building. This one is all metal, both outside and inside. The prefabricated parts are shipped by sea via the Danube and the Black Sea and then assembled and mounted in Istanbul.  On September 8, 1898, after a year and a half of work, the Church of St. Stephen of the Bulgars was inaugurated, in homage to the patron of Bulgaria.

MAHMUD NEDİM PAŞA YALISI Osmanlı’nın Viyana Büyükelçisi Mahmud Nedim Paşa tarafından yaptırılan yalının en dikkat çekici özelliği, Paşa’nın yaşadığı şehirler olan Viyana ve Prag’daki binalardan etkilenerek yaptırdığı kulesi. Paşa, Osmanlı’da valilik ve sadrazamlık görevlerinde de bulunmuş. Paşanın türbesi Garanti Bankası Nuruosmaniye şubesinin yanında bulunuyor. Torunları tarafından Kızılay’a bağışlanan yalı 2004’te üç milyon dolar karşılığında Yalçın Sabancı’ya satıldı.
