Photograph by @thomaspeschak After a 7 year absence I have returned to Hanifaru Bay in the Maldives, the location of my first feature for @natgeo magazine in 2008. "Feeding Frenzy" told the story of the worlds largest feeding aggregation of manta rays. At the time Hanifaru enjoyed no conservation status, but today it is a marine protected area surrounded by a Biosphere Reserve. @mantatrust For more new manta images follow me on @thomaspeschak

Photograph by @stefanounterthiner. Storm clouds darken the Rinca sky during the wet season, from December to March. The months of rain are enough to sustain forests that provide a home to dragon prey. This elderly lizard is probably growing too weak to hunt. Photograph from my @natgeo magazine story ‘Once Upon a Dragon’. Follow me @stefanounterthiner to see more images from my personal projects and my work with @natgeo. Thank you! #dragon #assignment #home #sky #cloud #storm

Photo by @mattmoyerphoto (Matt Moyer) – A pair of sea turtles swim off the coast of the Galapagos. Few things are more beautiful than a sea turtle "in flight". Sending a wish for all to witness many beautiful things in 2015! @natgeocreative @thephotosociety #turtles #Galapagos
