The ruins of Paricutin Mexico. Photo by @salvarezphoto (Stephen Alvarez) In 1943 lava from the erupting Paricutin volcano consumed the town of the same name leaving only the tower and part of the church nave as a reminder of the community that once stood here. The eruption itself lasted 9 years. Even though the volcano has been extinct since 1952 the lava field still steams in the cool early morning air. #lumiaxnatgeo #Mexico #Paricutin @lumiaxnatgeo by natgeo
ernestomayansgallery | Joel Greene - Through his paintings and prints, Joel Greene ...maintains a conversation, a lively exchange with the great Modernists of the past. With the New Mexico landscape permeating his experience, this dialogue echoes especially the artistic voices of New Mexico Modernists of the early 20th century, such as Andrew Dasburg, Josef Bakos.
