I love being able to introduce fairy tales and folk tales at this age and as my daughter and I are both highly sensitive I want her to know this tale in particular. I was often called "the princess and the pea" with negative connotations until I revisited this story where sensitivity is what matters most in the end. We enjoy Maja Dusaková's soft illustrations in this version too. #booksforkids #kidlit #childrensliterature #hanschristianandersen #majadusikova #princessandthepea #hsp #hsc…

Blue on Blue written by Dianne White | Illustrations by Beth Krommes - This is a gorgeous book pictures and text. My daughter loves the farm life depicted the animals and the coming and passing of a storm. I love the way color is depicted throughout from "Blue on blue. White on white" all the way to "Black on gold... on silver night." So cozy and so much for little eyes to see and talk about. #bethkrommes #picturebooks #childrensbooks #kidlit #kidbooks #blueonblue

Being in a prolonged season of waiting Kevin Henkes' Waiting struck a chord and prompted teary eyes. Ai-chan loves it too. Each toy is waiting for something different and becomes happy when their hope transpires other than the rabbit whom I have much to learn from... Events of life happen from comings and goings and even loss shown with the toy who falls and breaks"then he left and never returned." Seasons pass in all their waiting with new things to behold and future hopes. Delightfully…

Thank you to auntie in Japan for sending us these fun Japanese picture books! Ai-chan and I were equally excited to crack these open. And melts my heart to overhear her singing in Japanese along with the bunny as Daddy reads from わたしのワンピース (My Dress). #booksforkids #picturebooks #絵本 #childrenslit #kidlit #childrensliterature
