Taxila is a city of the Gandharan age which flourished up to 500 CE as a hub of Buddhism, a centre of learning, and as a meeting point of neighbouring cultures.  The Taxila archaeological site is located in the province of Punjab, Pakistan, about 30km north of the Capital Territory of Islamabad.
