Philippa of Lancaster, LG (Portuguese: Filipa de Lencastre; 31 March 1359 – 19 July 1415) was a Queen consort of Portugal. Born into the royal family of England, her 1387 marriage with King John I of Portugal secured the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance (1373–1386). Daughter of John of Gaunt and Blanche of Lancaster.

O legado de Dona Isabel de Aragão constitui um pequeno tesouro no panorama da ourivesaria sacra medieval, embora integre uma peça de uso pessoal, o colar de ouro e pedras preciosas ( inv. 6037). De acordo com a lenda, as freiras clarissas emprestavam-no aos doentes para ajudar à cura, sendo usado, em particular, pelas parturientes. - museumachadocastro.pt

She was married at the age of 12 to King Dinis of Portugal and after the death of her husband she joined the Order of Saint Clare. According to an original text at the time of her coronation, Elizabeth was carrying, concealed in her clothing, a large sum of money for charity. She encountered her husband, an unbeliever who was against charity and the money miraculously turned to roses. 24…
