Eating disorders are not a joke, a phase in a person's life, or a choice. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. Starving yourself will not make you feel better, physically or mentally
The number on this scale will not tell you: what a good person you are; how much your friends & family love you; that you are kind, smart, funny & amazing in ways numbers cannot define; that you have the power to choose happiness; your own self worth.
recoveringforreal: scales-are-for-fish: ☺ It should have just been “dear mental illness", because there are so many big (as in common) ones that they left out… bipolar, OCD, schizophrenia, addiction… this would work for all of them.
You don't have to be underweight to have an eating disorder. You could be overweight, standard weight, or underweight, every person with an eating disorder is just as sick as the next. It took me a long time to realise that.
