You don't have to be at Monument Valley to see the Milky Way arch across the sky like this -- but it helps. Only at Monument Valley USA would you see a picturesque foreground that includes these iconic rock peaks called buttes. Buttes are composed of hard rock left behind after water has eroded away the surrounding soft rock. In the featured image taken in 2012, the closest butte on the left and the butte to its right are known as the Mittens.

This image of a fireball was captured in the Czech Republic by cameras at a digital autonomous observatory in the village of Kunžak. Led by David Clark (University of Western Ontario), the authors of a recent study speculate that before this meteoroid impacted Earth, it may have been a Temporarily Captured Orbiter (TCO). Only one has ever been observed to date, and EN130114 is the first event ever detected that exhibits conclusive behavior of a TCO.

The fireball in this image may have been produced by a unique type of object that was temporarily captured by the Earth.
