Roxie is a super cute French Bulldog who came to IVS to see one of our dental specialists Dr. Scott MacGee . Dr. MacGee found that Roxie had a small jaw fracture. A splint was used to stabilize the jaw fracture so it could heal. You would never know that anything was wrong with Roxie because she is always all licks and butt wiggles. She’s doing great and may want to be a veterinary dentist herself someday!
This is Neville! He’s updating medical records on the patients he’s seen today while drinking his morning coffee. After that, he’ll be calling the referring vets to let them know how their patients are doing. Neville’s one of the best doggy vets we've had!
Coltrane is a ridge-less Rhodesian Ridgeback who ate some gum. Gum is toxic to dogs because it contains xylitol, a sugar substitute, that can cause life threatening low blood sugar (if your dog ingests gum, see your veterinarian right away)! Since Coltrane is now doing fine, he wanted to do some veterinary technician work. He’s directing traffic indicating which way to go by tilting his head from side to side.
Hi. My name is Lucky. I’m a 13-year-old African Spurred Tortoise. My favorite things are walking in the grass (slowly) and eating grass. The surgery cap doesn’t stay on my head so I have to put it on my shell! It turns out I’m not a good fit for emergency medicine. Something about it taking me a day to get to the exam rooms.
This is Monday! She came in to donate blood for the IVS Canine Blood Bank and decided she might as well do some work before donating. Monday loved wearing her lab coat! She’s welcome to be a relief vet anytime!
My name is Dexter, or as I like to call myself, Dexter “The Daring!” I’m very daring because I live in a house with dogs that are at least 3 times my size, but I run the show. You can see from this picture that I like to run the show at work, too. Since I’m the doctor, everyone has to do what I say. Hee hee hee. But seriously, I am a very sweet, lovable dog!
This is Amelia. She is taking a quick break from all of the slides she has to read. She says, “I’m getting too old for this. If I have to count one more platelet, I quit!” She’s getting a little feisty in her old age. We all know some doctors like that! ;)
This is Izzy (or as her mom calls her, “Naughty Dog”). Izzy never looks at the camera when she should because, according to her, she doesn’t have time for the paparazzi! She’s too busy being a great vet! Her specialty is frogs, which we don’t see here, so she may have to go work somewhere else. Not sure who is going to break that news to her…
