Black Heart - Chandra's X-ray data revealed a supermassive black hole in the center of this galaxy, called NGC NGC 4945 is about 12 million light-years away. Data from this image come from 2000 and Images From The NASA Archive

Star Cluster Nebula Green Space Astronomy Wrapping Paper

Area surrounding the stellar cluster NGC located in the southern constellation of Puppis ("The Stern"). A few million years old at most, it is an active stellar nursery, where new stars are born continuously from large clouds of dust and gas.

NASA’s Astronomy Picture Of The Day: Spiral Galaxy NGC 6744

While most spiral galaxies, including our own Milky Way, have two or more spiral arms, NGC 4725 has only one. In this sharp color composite image, the arm, solo spira mirabilis, seems to wind from a prominent ring of bluish, newborn star clusters and red tinted star forming regions. Astronomers refer to NGC 4725, located 41 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices, as a ringed barred spiral galaxy because a prominent ring of stars encircles a bar of stars at its center.
