Inside of LeDomaine (see previous photo) is of course a stunning hotel but one of the things I didn't expect to find in a former monastery is a statue of Buddha and a very handsome and ancient one at that. Adjacent to the hotel's obligatory gym was a wonderful relaxation room, where this statue seems to enhance a feeling of serenity. Photo ©Kevin Ashton 2012. #spain #buddha #chefkevinashton

Imagine a 12th century monastery in the Spanish countryside close to Valladolid restored in all its architectural splendour. These days The Estate Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine is not just a vineyard but also a 5 star hotel with a Michelin star. Photo ©Kevin Ashton 2012. #spain #Valladolid #michelinstar #chefkevinashton

Italians call these Porcini, French call them Cepes, In England they are sometimes called Penny Bun. Widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere across Europe, Asia, and North America, it does not occur naturally in the Southern Hemisphere, although it has been introduced to southern Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. I took this photo in Spain. #porcini #wildmushrooms #chefkevinashton #cepes #spain

A photo I took about 2000. The picture is the Church of San Miguel, Teguise on the island of Lanzarote.

A contrast of light and dark. I took this photo at Château de Quéribus. This wellknown Cathar castle sits ontop of a mountain. Photo taken by Kevin Ashton © 2011

I certainly wouldn't call myself a knowledgeable gardener but this looks like some kind of rhododendron, can anyone help me? I took this photo on a very bright sunny day in the French village of Montjoi, 2015.#flowers #chefkevinashton #france #montjoi

Just down by my sister's house. A walk I like to take in the spring when the wild garlic and bluebells are out. Photo by Kevin Ashton
