Oscar-Claude Monet November 1840 – 5 December , French impressionist, died at Monet died of lung cancer and is buried in the Giverny church cemetery. Monet had insisted that the occasion be simple; so only about fifty people attended the ceremony.

Claude Monet (November 1840 - December was a founder of French impressionist painting. The term Impressionism is derived from the title of his painting "Impression, Sunrise". I find his art truly inspirational.
