Queen Victoria got married to Prince Albert on February 10, 1840 and instead of wearing her royal robes to the wedding, she preferred to wear a silk satin court dress in white color. The amazing dress was designed by Mrs. Bettans by making use of only the British materials. The satin silk of the fabulous gown came from Spitalfields in London whereas the English Honiton lace trim was created in Devon that employed more than 200 lace workers.
