These chimps we're taken from Liberia in the 1970s by New York Blood Center to be used over & over in experiments until 2005. Then NYBC dumped them on an island off Liberia that has NO FOOD OR CLEAN WATER. These chimps would've died if the HSUS hadn't stepped in to care for them. Food & water must be delivered to them daily.  The NYBC owes them lifetime care but still refuses to do so despite having over $500 MILLION. Disgraceful!

These chimps helped save human lives. Then they were abandoned.

Diane Fossey gave her life to help save those animals from extinction.  She makes me cry both for the lives that she saved and the life that she lost.

Dian Fossey, American zoologist, primatologist and anthropologist, studied mountain gorilla groups over a period of 18 years. She wrote 'Gorillas in the Mist'. She was murdered at age 53 in Rwanda.
