Gisela Perl was a Jewish gynecologist forced to work at the hospital at Auschwitz. Ordered to turn over pregnant women to be experimented on, she instead performed thousands of abortions, saving those women from deadly Nazi “scientific” torture. Dr Perl defied the Nazis in hopes that the women she saw would survive to have children in freedom in the future and many did. Dr Perl survived too, and emigrated to NYC and had a thriving practice at Mt Sinai Hospital. She was a hero.

Karl Franz Gebhardt was a brigadier general of the Waffen-SS, childhood friend of Himmler, and a practitioner of experiments on concentration camp inmates. After the war, Gebhardt was sentenced to death and hanged in
