Custom made live edge Black Walnut coffee table built with urban salvaged slabs. The slabs that I use are salvaged from from a trees taken down by arborists in the Green Bay Wisconsin area. Instead of being land filled or turned into firewood I milled the slabs myself and had them dried in a Vacuum kiln. I will work with you to select slabs for your project via emailed photos. There are mahogany bow ties hand inlaid in the top of the table in the photos. These are an aesthetic choice that can be a different type of wood such as maple, walnut, etc. The table is built with all hand cut bridle joints and traditional mortise and tenon joinery and assembled with glue. The top is held in place with centering dowel pins and drawbored dowels that allow the top slab to expand and contract due to seasonal humidity changes without cracking. The table dimensions in the photo are 46" long 32" wide and 18" tall. This can be altered to fit your size needs. The finish is a hand rubbed Maloof oil finish that brings out the character of the wood grain and provides long lasting durability and protection.
