John Ward, UK. Stoneware. Height 7 1/2" x Width 6 1/2" One of Britains best known and most widely respected living potters, John Ward has produced a body of work comprised of mainly coil built stoneware vessel forms, generally favoring matte glazes and hand applied oxides. Each piece is hand built of flattened coils; some are then cut and rejoined, incised with a pattern or burnished with pebbles. They are then twice fired in an electric kiln.
