The Pópulo Convent in Braga was built in the 16th century. The structure of the building has several baroque characteristics. The facade is in an advanced stage of ruin because was dismantled and rebuilt in the late 18th century. This new project framed in the neoclassical architecture.
The Joanina Library of the University of Coimbra was built from 1717 to 1728 during the reign of John V of Portugal. Its Baroque portal is decorated with a national coat of arms of Portugal and the golden ceiling is richly decorated with beautiful paintings.
